Helps Some

I say it "helps some" because my blind and deaf pup is still using his face to figure out where he is. The halo only minimizes that and I guess that's better than nothing.

Poodle tolerates it

My poodle doesn’t seem to mind it as he’s bumping into everything.

Great company. Allowed exchange when the first order did not fit. They sent out the next size ASAP to get my dog his halo as soon as possible. Responsive and kind customer service. Only wish about product would be to have the wings come in a solid color and without any additional print on that color. Product makers have created a very thoughtful and effective device to support animals who have impaired vision.

Perfect for my dog!!!

The wings are a bit heavy, but it's better than any of its competitors

It’s a great idea but it’s too small. I did all the measurements just like they said and ended up with a size 4 but the Velcro barely touches as it wraps around him. If he pushes hard enough he can break out of it. His ears also get stuck on the ring when he shakes his head. So then I thought I’d just use it for walks but even that wasn’t successful. I really wanted to love this product. I was so excited for it to help my little blind baby but I just feel I wasted my money.

16 yr old shih tzu

My old dog now feels comfortable enough to go for short walks again

Overall it’s a descent product.

He’s still adjusting to it. So far he’s not hitting his head as much.

Wonderful Product

Unfortunately my elderly dog can’t pick his head up or even get up with it on. I’ve tried it on him several times but he can’t get up. I don’t believe it’s too heavy. I think it’s just his age (19). I believe it would have been great for him if he could’ve used it. I am going to donate it as I know it would help a small dog.

Didn’t work for my pet, too expensive to not work, and they didn’t allow returns.

Very good idea. Needs one more flap under girth.

I liked color and putting it on my Nick. We tried a few times, but he has too many health problems. Main thing I need to tell you is that he is a Mini-Schnauzer, 16 lbs. He was lying on the floor for an hour and then in corner of my eye, I saw him struggling to get up and could not. I had to pull him up from the under girth wrap-around velcro stuck on the carpet!!! If I hadn't seen, it would not be good! Idea is add another flap to cover unused portion of wrap-around velcro under girth or it is actually dangerous.

Best decision I made.

Muffins halo made a world of difference, Wally was blinded in a accident, it was head trauma, no bodily injury, he seemed depressed and withdrawan,as soon as I put the halo on, he started walking around, and now he is all over the place exploring, I created a room for him and had it padded, but he knows where his bed is and his water. I love it, he lives it. Thank you so much for helping me turn a tragedy into a whole new life for my Wally 🐾

Well made but it’s...

Well made but it’s too small. I’ll need to return it for a larger size. I’ll remeasure again.

Easy to put together, lightweight, and Olive quickly adapted to it.

Olive's new harness was quick and easy to put together. Though the Number 7 wings are just slightly smaller than her shoulders, I could bend them enough to make them fit. She learned to get around quickly. Only thing I miss is a grip on the back of the harness if I have to pull her back by hand. Maybe your next version will have that! Olive is a 5-year-old mix who came down with glaucoma this summer and quickly lost her eyesight. She has since had both eyes removed and is recovering from that operation while wearing a cone, of course. Once the sutures are removed she'll be back to her halo.

Fizz is getting more confidence from cruising around with het Halo on. It's definitely perked he...

So far so good.

Great product* highly recommend!

I have been using the product for 1 week now. This product has had a very positive result for my dog. She is 12 years old and blind. She is now more confident to move about the house on her own. I would recommend this strongly.

My dog went blind...

My dog went blind and has already adjusted by time the halo arrived and surprisingly is managing around the home pretty well but halo works well on walks and my dog doesn't mind it on her while walking.

Grateful to find Muffin's Halo

The halo is a wonderful product to help your pup navigate his world when he becomes blind. Our pups was just 2 years old when a fungal infection, Blastomycosis, robbed him of his eyesight. I found Muffin's Halo online, purchase one and it helps him immensely especially outside when he wants to try to explore the yard & woods. The halo gives him the confidence that he won't walk into a tree or bush or anything else, without the halo stopping him before damage can be done to his eyes. It takes some getting used to as it's a little bulky but it's a terrific product and it protects your furry loved one from doing any further harm to their eyes. Thank you!

Love it

Love it my dog can finally walk around and not hit her little head

Seems to work!

Keeps my girl from hitting her face on everything!

My baby seams much...

My baby seams much more confident with it on. Still learning to navigate; but so far feel like it’s been a great purchase

Great help and protection

Very useful…he’s getting use to it

Great product!

The halo is very well made. My dog is very comfortable in it and has no problems sleeping in it. Great product!

Great quality item but one-day shipping took three days.

The halo is great. Very good quality. Thank you for sending two halos of different sizes. One thing we weren't happy about - We ordered the Halo on Saturday, 9/7 and paid over $50 for one-day shipping. We didn't receive the halo until Tuesday, 9/10.

Safety is our goal

I love that it protects him from bad bumps into things

FAQ

Is Muffin’s Halo right for my dog?

There are three circumstances when Muffin’s Halo is the ideal navigational tool for your blind dog.

First, when your dog has gone blind very suddenly. In these circumstances, they often benefit from the Halo to help them adjust.

Second, if your dog has been going blind more slowly but they’re simply not adjusting. If your pup is losing confidence, getting stuck in the middle of a room or just not moving, then the Halo can help them.

Third, is when your dog may be comfortable navigating your home without the Halo, but needs additional support when you go to a new environment. The Halo will help them get used to a new space without hurting themselves or losing confidence in their ability to navigate with scent.

How does Muffin’s Halo work?

When Muffin’s Halo bumps another object, your dog notices there’s an obstacle in the way through sound and vibration. Dogs catch on rather quickly, helping them build confidence while they learn to properly navigate through their surroundings.

How do I choose the right size for my Halo?

You can use our Sizing and Fit Guide to determine the Muffin’s Halo that is best for your dog.

What is the best way to introduce my dog to Muffin’s Halo?

Your dog will be using other senses to explore the world around them, so let them sniff the harness and wings before putting them on. Once you have Muffin’s Halo on, we recommend placing your blind dog near a corner or wall so they can softly bump into a hard surface to experience being redirected with their Halo. They will quickly learn that the purpose of the halo is to help them navigate. Make sure this, as with everything else, is a positive experience - lots of love, praise and treats will help!

What do I do if my dog’s wings keep sliding off?

If your dog has silky fur or the harness is slipping, we highly recommend putting a t-shirt or sweater on your dog underneath the vest to hold it snugly in place.

Can I leave my dog home alone with Muffin’s Halo on?

We do not recommend leaving Muffin’s Halo on your dog while he or she is unsupervised or home alone. Additionally, Muffin’s Halo should be removed before putting your dog in a crate for safety purposes.

Can my dog eat and drink with Muffin’s Halo on?

Yes, your dog can eat, drink, sleep, play, and do all their favorite and normal activities with it on. And its lightweight design is comfortable to wear all day.

Can my dog sleep with Muffin’s Halo on?

Yes! Muffin’s Halo will not get in the way of a good nap or a good night’s sleep.
